… a triad of concepts that go hand-in-hand at HWF
Years of planning and collaboration have gone into realizing the vision of Heritage Wake Forest – and the work is far from complete. But we are pleased, and more than a little bit proud, to announce that an expanded system of outdoor amenities is now “open for enjoyment:” miles of greenway trails, parks (with picnic tables and benches), playgrounds, and gardens. Add to that a fishing pond, with pier and observation deck, and you have an all-inclusive ticket to enjoy the naturally beautiful setting of HWF and the health benefits of an active lifestyle (and have tons of fun along the way)!
From the very start, we recognized, and embraced, the challenge of residential development that would be both respectful to the environment and responsive to the lifestyles of its residents, present and future. Finding that balance has entailed our voluntary efforts to engage environmental engineers, landscape architects, local government agencies, the expressed voices of our residents, and many others in the process.
The result is a community that offers abundant recreational choices to all its residents, while complementing the natural surroundings with the planting of thousands of native, drought-resistant shrubs, flowers, and trees, preserving and restoring a stream, and creating safe, accessible, and thoroughly enjoyable spaces where folks can walk, jog, bike, play, gather, and partake of the camaraderie that HWF is already so well known for.
Nature enthusiasts, marathon runners-in-training, kids with energy to burn, families just dong the ordinary things that families do, and everybody who finds the great outdoors a “breath of fresh air” in their daily routines is heartily invited to come on out and enjoy!
